The first step to create and manifest your heart’s desires is to know what you want. It’s similar to taking a vacation; you need to know where you want to go before you can get there. If you’re an adventurous type and like to be open to wherever you end up, you still need to know what direction to take your first step.
Some use their logic to determine what’s best for them, others trust their intuition to guide them towards what they want, and then there are those who get caught in pursuing what they think they should do which only leads to frustration and disappointment.
“Unhappiness is not knowing what we want and killing ourselves to get it“. ~ Don Herold
When we know what would fulfill us on a deep level, we have the enthusiasm to manifest it easily. When we don’t, we end up living an unfulfilled life or discover what we want through trial and error which can create a lot of heartache on the way. Read my tips below to discover what your heart and soul really wants. How to Know What You Want
Trust your intuition. When we sidestep our analytical mind and touch into our intuition we can get a sense, image, or deeper knowing of what we really want. Turn inward and allow your senses, inner voice, or spiritual eyes to tell you or show you what you want. It may be something intangible like having more ease in your life or something more specific like an ideal career. Whatever it is, just sit back and let it be revealed to you.
Follow your values. What do you truly value – being creative, going on adventures, inspiring others, learning, exploring, communicating, connecting…? Take time to explore what ignites your passion and then brainstorm how to express these values in your life.
If money and time weren’t an issue. A fun imaginary exercise to do is to imagine that you have all the money you need to support yourself for a lifetime and all the time available to do whatever you want. What would you do? Write down a list of all the ideas that spontaneously arise.
If you only had a year to live. Another motivating exercise is to imagine that you only have one or two years to live (healthy until the last minute of course). What would be most important to you? What would you want to experience before you died? What would you regret not doing? Make a list of the ‘must dos’.
Why do you want it? One way to see if what you think you want is really what you want (and not what someone else wants for you or what you think you should want) is to ask yourself why you want it. Reflect on what it is you want to create and manifest in your life and write down the reasons why you desire this. What will it do for you and why do you want that benefit? Keep asking why to all the reasons that surface until there are no more reasons. Do you still want it or do you want something different now that you’ve explored it further? Once you clearly know what you want to create in your life it will be easier to manifest.
