That's excellent Eric - I love it when I re-read something and get even more from it the second time.

That's one of the best things about online articles and blogs -- the responses are available forever. I don't understand chakras that well, and am very happy that Gini is here to guide is in this way!

Hello Eric,

You offer some wonderful thoughts and questions here - I can see you have a busy analyzer! I can relate as my mind loves to achieve things and wants to do things in a sequential process, but thankfully, because of my years of meditating and using intuition and my 6th chakra to view things from a broader, energetic perspective, I can override this tendency.

Our society (and most of the world) are caught in mind (thought) dominance as well as body (emotional) reactions. From this place, it is hard to let go and clear past trauma, limiting beliefs and so on. When we operate from a soul perspective we simply rise above these invalidations and vibrate at a higher level where lower thoughts and beliefs can't reside so they easily release.

I don't think (there I go, thinking again) we have to completely clear one chakra in order to move up to the next. I have experienced clearing on various levels which affect other levels. For example, releasing invalidation from the heart chakra and filling with self-love, will impact the lower chakras.

Obsessive thinking and perfectionism are not necessarily a root chakra blockage. The third chakra has to do with how we use our energy as well as own our power so there could be messages in your solar plexus chakra about having to succeed or use your energy in a perfect way.

The easiest way I have found to rise above obsessive thinking and mental/physical striving is to practice being centered and grounded. When I am centered (focus of awareness in the center of my head, not in my frontal analyzer) I let go of the compulsive urge to 'do more' and I settle into 'being'. When I am fully grounded (through an energy cord connected to the first chakra) I release tension, strong emotions and other people's energy that might be trying to influence me.

I have experiential descriptions of how to easily do both of these on my Insights & Inspiration site. Read the articles on <a href="http://www.ginigrey.com/wp/spiritual-insights/centered-within/" rel="nofollow">Centered Within</a> and <a href="http://www.ginigrey.com/wp/spiritual-insights/staying-grounded/" rel="nofollow">Staying Grounded</a> and see if these help.

Take care,

Gini

Great article! I think I have a bit of blockage here. I tend to gravitate towards perfectionism. It's probably a root chakra to want to "fully" and "thoroughly" heal the root chakra to the exclusion of other issues.

Must we clear all past trauma, undo ALL the beliefs fixing us in fight or flight, revolutionize our understanding of our connection to the earth, nature, and completely heal our mindbody rift, before we go to the sacral.

We probably don't ever stop working in this area our whole lives. How do we stop the obsessive, perfectionism that locks us into sequential progression, before I do this, then I must do that, then once that's healed, I'll be ready for the solar plexus. I get caught up there...Is that a root blockage? :)

Thanks!
