I’m Laurie Pawlik-Kienlen, a full-time freelance writer and blogger in Vancouver, BC. Also known as The Adventurous Writer, I created six “Quips and Tips” blogs and have written four “Quips and Tips” ebooks.
My degrees are in Education and Psychology from the University of Alberta, in Edmonton. I’ve held more than 60 jobs — I love trying new things — and lived in Kenya, East Africa for three years. There, I taught Language Arts and Journalism at an American school in Nairobi.
I’ve been the Psychology Feature Writer for Suite101 for almost five years – but writing for “Quips and Tips” is my passion and full-time job!
“Quips and Tips” eBooks
75 Ways to Let Go of Someone You Love – to help people let go of the past and move on with their lives. Letting go is one of the most painful things you’ll ever do…but there are ways to make it easier.
80 Ways to Say “I Love You” – to help people like me, who struggle to find the right holiday, anniversary, and birthday gifts for their partners! This ebook is about more than gifts, though — it’s about saying “I love you” and building a more meaningful relationship in small, incredibly important ways every day.
75 Ways to Make (More) Money Blogging – to help writers and bloggers make money doing what they love! If you spend time and energy on your blog, you deserve to earn a few bucks for your efforts. This ebook isn’t just about making money blogging, it’s about building a better blog.
73 Ways to Fire Up (or Just Fire!) the Muse- to help writers and bloggers overcome fear, self-doubt, criticism, and uncertainty. After all, who wants to read age 95 and wish they had written that bestselling novel? Who wants to die with unfulfilled dreams and desires? Not me.
As a freelance writer, I’ve written for a wide range of publications, including Reader’s Digest, Woman’s Day, MSN Health, Natural Health, Spirituality & Health, and sometimes More. I also enjoy writing for organizations such as BC Women’s Hospital and Health Match BC.
But, my “Quips and Tips” sites occupy me full-time (and beyond!).

Genevieve,
Thanks being here! I’ve emailed you privately; I’d love more information about your wholistic massage practice for my health article.
And, please do keep me posted on your next Goddess party — your other one was so much fun!
Blessings,
Laurie
Hello Laurie,
We meet again. I saw your post on the forum and thought I would give some insight into my own healing modality.
I am a wholistic massage practitioner on Bowen Island and own Still Waters Massage. I see many people that have aches and pains and deeper illness such as recovering from cancer, arthritis and fibromyalgia. Where do these illness come from? Is it from our child hood? Our current life circumstance? Fears of what is to come? Food, diet and lifestyle?
I believe that illness that manifests in the body comes from a deeper spiritual call. It comes from our soul. It tells us that we are on purpose or not. I see this when my clients come to me for a healing and they are seeking to be heard and to bring clarity to what they already know. A lot of it is emotionally based and stress related as our emotions are our compass. Anxiety is rooted in energy that is stuck in our heads, lack of breathing and multi tasking to the point that we no longer are in touch with who we are or are becoming.
I am able to help people through massage, energy work and intuitive talk therapy to help them open their hearts and to feel heard. I will hold the space for them by being grounded and allowing them to release what is no longer serving them purpose on their terms. They can get to the point that they feel their own source through the energetic clearing. This is an honor for me to witness. I love what I do and am blessed to have found a profession that not only allows me to help others but that continually reminds me of staying on track.
If you want to talk further, maybe even experience a complimentary treatment with me to see what I do, please let me know. Contact me at stillwatersonbowen at gmail.com or phone 604-722-4472.
Plus we are more than likely having another Goddess party in June. I will keep you in the loop!
I hope you are well,
Genevieve McCorquodale
