That's a wonderful way to increase your spiritual connection with your husband, Gini -- thanks for sharing it! And, the way you describe it makes alot of sense.

Valerie, I've been thinking about your question....I'll write a blog post here on Quips & Tips about deepening your spiritual connection with your spouse. I'll post the link here on Wednesday. Stay tuned!

Hi Valerie,

I'm sure Laurie will have some good tips on how to bring spirituality into your Valentines Day beyond what she suggested above - as her Quips & Tips for Spiritual Seekers writing partner, I'd like to add a few suggestions here.

Even though your husband may not be actively spiritual - he is still a spiritual being in a human body. There are many aspects of spirituality that people possess without labeling them as spiritual - for example, compassion, love, kindness and forgiveness are all spiritual qualities. Perhaps you could initiate a conversation around one of these topics on its own and that will invoke the spirit to arise within your husband.

Another spiritual thing to do is to focus on gratitude as it is a high level vibration of consciousness - perhaps the two of you could share what you are each grateful for in eachother and in your relationship on Valentine's Day.

Another thing I love to do is to turn inward (in a prayer or meditative state) and really connect with who I am as a spiritual being, bigger than my mind and body. I then create an image of my hubby out in front of me. At first I see his physical presence and body personality, but then I look deeper into his soul. I connect with him on that level and have a loving conversation with him. Then when I open my eyes and have contact with him later in the day, it somehow has set the tone for a deeper, more intimate connection. Try it and let us know if it works for you.

This are great tips, but my husband isn't spiritual..............and I am. It's not really a huge problem in our relationship, but I wish we could be more spiritual together. Bringing spirituality into Valentine's Day would be amazing.

Any ideas on how I can do that?

Thx,
Val
