These money saving hints for women aren’t about sticking to a budget. Nope. They’re about stopping emotional spending, figuring out your money personality, and achieving financial independence.
And, these money saving hints are peppered with inspirational quotations from Marianne Williamson – one of my most favorite strong successful women in history!
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate,” said Williamson. “Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us.”
You are a powerful woman. You can become financially independent. Don’t let your anxieties or fears hold you back – most of them are groundless! If you struggle with debt and money problems, read On My Own Two Feet: A Modern Girl’s Guide to Personal Finance.

Here’s what she says about saving money for your future:
“We need to give [women] more of an incentive to work, to save, to invest, to create a true future for themselves.” ~ Suze Orman

If your husband cheated with another woman, you can rebuild marriage trust after his affair! Here are five steps towards trusting your husband again, with inspiration from Ann Landers. These tips are based on a reader’s question about her cheating boyfriend:
“My boyfriend and I have been together for three years,” says Liz. “I just found out he has been talking to three other girls on the internet. He says he won’t do it again but I am still not sure. I don’t know what to do anymore. What do I do?” (from 10 Ways to Improve a Bad Relationship).
One of the first steps is to find out why he cheated. Books like The Truth about Cheating: Why Men Stray and What You Can Do to Prevent It are helpful because they give an objective perspective (which you and your husband don’t necessarily have).

Milian is smart, sassy, and oh-so-confident – and yet she’s empathetic and kind.
She’s also self-aware:

Even the most successful, self-confident women struggle with their appearance! But the truth is that beauty isn’t about body shape and size…it’s about a woman’s thoughts about herself. Here, two therapists share five thoughts that can change your appearance….
“Face it: there is no magic solution to aging with grace and dignity,” say authors Vivian Diller, PhD, and Jill Muir-Sukenick, PhD. “We were once professional models, so we were made acutely aware how quickly a premium on physical beauty can fade with age. It took hard work and time, but we learned the secret of how to enjoy our changing appearance. Now we are therapists treating hundreds of women who may be fulfilled and evolved in many ways, but are still having difficulty coming to terms with the lines of time.”
To learn how to accept aging naturally (without cosmetic surger!), read Face It: What Women Really Feel as Their Looks Change, which was edited by Michele Willens. And, here are five truths about beauty that may change how you feel about your appearance… read more…

These five ways to learn from your mistakes are inspired by the great Ella Fitzgerald – the “first lady of song” – and they’re all about recovering from setbacks, building resilience, and bouncing back from big and little upsets.
“It isn’t where you came from, it’s where you’re going that counts.” ~ Ella Fitzgerald.

My readers often ask if their partners can change, and the answer is, “it depends.” These five ways to be more happily married focus on what a spouse can and can’t change, and are based on insights from a research psychologist and author.
“People cannot change their basic essence even if they try, and it is futile to demand that they do so,” says Andrew Christensen, a UCLA professor of psychology and author of Reconcilable Differences. “To love and marry someone, you must accept the essence of the other person; you must accept who he or she is. You can push for change at the periphery but not at the core. Marriage is a package deal. You don’t get a line-item veto over your partner’s personality, where you can discard the traits you don’t like.”
This psychologist wrote a practical guide for married couples – Reconcilable Differences – about conflict resolution and the desire to change a spouse’s personality, habits, and lifestyle. Here is some of his relationship advice… read more…
