After reading the above, I just feel depressed as my relationship has ended over 8months now and we were together for 5 years. I sometimes get to the point where I wont to cry a times for no reason, or sometimes I think about where we could be if we were together. His in a new relationship now and moved on but I'm worried that I could never move on as he was, well thought to be the love of my life. I've let go but haven't in a small way, I just miss him at times but remind myself the negative things he did. I just want to move on with my life and put the past to the past. It's so difficult to do so, I just need advice on how to manage my emotions / feelings in order to look forward to the future?

Thanks for listening.

Hello Maria,
Thanks for your insights on Letting Go of other people's expectations..all I do with my life is
help others and family members, I never have time for me..They are always disappointed in me
or find faults so I am giving it up and let everyone do their own thing and I am going to find my life and what I want to do..I am being someone that I am not and getting physically and
emotionally sick of it..

Sincerely,
Brenda Griner

One thing I have done when throwing a Goddess Party,..is have a gifting circle.
What that is, is where everyone brings something of their own,..that they like or has special meaning to them,..that they want to give away. I tell the ladies to think about some of their things,..then say to themselves.. okay, who wants to go on an adventure? See what thing pops to the surface,..comes to mind.

The ladies are told to bring their offering/gift in an anonymous bag, have a room set up to have a lady be able to slip in and taking the item out of the bag and arranging it as she likes in a designated area or place. (bed, table , shelf etc.) then slipping back out. Thusly none of the ladies know who brought what.
After a time of doing other GP things. Hostess announces time for the Gifting to begn. you can draw numbers or in some other way who goes first second and so on,..as each person goes in alone,..chooses what gift they are drawn to,..comes out holding up and or saying what they chose. The person who brought that particular gift says "oh that was mine! :)" Then the next person goes in, while the two ladies share with each other(and or the group) what was/is special about the item and why they chose it.
This goes on until everyone has something new and special to go home with.

Thanks Sheila, I really appreciate your comments! You made my day -- and it's good to know that other women have failed and succeeded in different ways.

After all, we can't truly succeed without failing, right?

Lori, I have felt this way many times. I completed a degree in psychology from U of S but wasn't accepted to physiotherapy. I started the college of Nursing but dropped out after a required year off when I would have had to start all over. I recently tried twice to complete my Medical lab technology practicum but failed both times. I am really discouraged but something pushes me on to completing online Teaching esl courses and volunteer work. I may not be sucessful but I am bound to find a niche besides med lab assisting and phlebotomy which keeps me employed as a casual worker at a hospital. I managed to pass my MLA program and my degree so I press on. You inspire me and you will one day be published, many times over! Just believe and persevere.
