Deepening your relationship to the God of your heart will take you into a fuller experience of yourself as a spiritual being and open you to an abundance of love, joy and trust. These higher states of being are always there for us to tune into, but like the sun obscured by the clouds, our true nature is cloaked by our mental ranting and emotional reactivity. We start to believe we are the mind or body and forget who we truly are and why we are here.

It says in the Bhagavad Gita that “God is seated in the hearts of all,” and in the Bible, “The kingdom of God is within.” We are not separate from God, but intricately connected at all times. How could it be otherwise? Yet so many of us get lost in the busyness of our lives and let external circumstances dominate until we feel disconnected from the God of our heart. This is just an illusion which can be broken by taking time to deepen our relationship to God, Source, Creator, or however we each refer to the essence of all life.

How to Connect to God, Source, Creator

In a recent article I wrote about the importance of knowing God from your own unique perspective. We can conceptually understand God through stories, texts and scriptures, but to deepen our relationship to the divine we need to leave the head and enter the heart and soul.

Prayer, meditation, visualization, along with seeing the divine in everyone and everything you encounter, are the four best ways I know to experience God directly. Take time each day to connect directly to the divine through these four ways:

1. Visualize the essence of the divine. Close your eyes and center within. Visualize a symbol or image of God in front of you (I like to use the image of a rose filled with the energy of whatever it is I want to connect with). Touch into the true essence of God, beyond any concepts – see, sense or experience the spiritual qualities of love, acceptance, compassion, forgiveness, and joy emanating from this vision. Then tune into these aspects within yourself.

2. Pray to God in a conversation. Many pray for the wellbeing of themselves and others and offer gratitude for the blessings in their life and then end the conversation. What about using prayer as a way to enter a deeper dialogue with the divine. Set aside time each day to surrender your problems, share your appreciation, and then listen for guidance. Ask questions, share your concerns, and create a back and forth conversation. This will help you to trust that you are being divinely guided and cared for.

3. Meditate on your oneness with source. There are many spiritual health benefits of meditation, but the ultimate reason for meditating (at least from my experience) is to experience your divine wholeness and oneness with the source of all life. From this place God shifts from being an external Supreme Being to being the essence of you. You realize there is no separation, no us and them; you know deep within that you are God and so is everyone else.

4. See the spirit in everyone. Look past surface appearances to see the soul in everyone and everything you encounter; in every tree, animal, person, relationship, and experience. If we are truly all one, then God flows through each of us and into every experience we have – we only have to open our spiritual eyes to see this.

As you deepen your relationship to the God of your heart by seeing everything through your heart and soul, your life will unfold with ease, beauty and synchronicity.

Believe in miracles. We all have the gift
of intuition. I know mine existed, but it was
dormant. After the physcial loss of my son in 2006, that “divine spark
within” ignited. I listened to my heart and
knew I was receiving this gift through the
grace of God. You see, when times are bad and tragedy
hits, we have that birthright—to connect to the
Creative Force. That connection saved me. As
a result, I know my son continues his journey,

and I can continue mine with more wisdom and
insight than I ever knew was possible.

It is my hope that you will experience this
miracle, too, become more aware, and raise your
    level of consciousness.

I was waking up one morning, when I
usually hear messages through telepathy. This
time I heard very clearly “Pave the Path with
Light.” I will continue to follow this path. I
    hope you will, too.

    Blessings

What a wonderful message, Renee. I appreciate you sharing your experience of connecting more deeply to God. I share your hope that each of us will experience that miracle and become more aware and therefore raise the consciousness of the whole planet.

    Thanks for shining your light,
