To build my confidence I always try to make myself do something I’m scared of whenever possible. And you often find there’s nothing scarier than the thoughts you think. Remember the quote: ‘Feel the fear but do it anyway.’

You are complete correct when you say that you have to overcome and conquer fear when it comes to writing if you want to get published.
