I do do lots of traveling and I've been blogging for a little more than a month. It never dawned on me to write about where I've been and what I did. I do have a post ready to go in the near future about where I want to go. Not the same thing I know. Thanks for the idea.

Hey! Interesting post. Funny because I don't necessarily love travel writing, yet I'm writing a travel memoir! I actually did a podcast with The Creative Penn this week partly on travel writing: http://tinyurl.com/yhxmfyc.

When I write about traveling, I don't write a lot about place (plenty of travel writers do, but this simply isn't my strength, or my interest). I tell stories about people I meet along the way, mishaps, my own personal journey. I also like to write pieces that help other travelers -- what to pack, how to do this or that.

Thanks, George and Vicki!

Vicki, I love your question about a writing a good title -- and I'll write a blog post about it within a week. After I get home from my travels :-)

Thanks for being here,
Laurie

Hey Laurie~

I wish I wrote more travel articles too. Your great tips for finding ideas while traveling made me realize why I don't write travel articles...every time I go somewhere, I'm absorbing everything I can and then, lo and behold, it turns into a poem.

I think you just gave me an idea for a new collection of poetry, but it needs a good title. Got any tips for me?

I love your blogs - they always spark some new idea for me!
Keep up the great work!

Laurie,

I would love to break into travel writing, but I need to work on traveling a bit more. I just don't get around as much as I used to.

I'll bet these tips would help anyone interested in traveling this road...

George
