Hi Eileen,

That’s great that you invited a blogger to do a guest post — it’s a wonderful way to build your blog!

It’s not copyright infringement if she gives you permission to post her article on your blog, and if it wasn’t published elsewhere that has copyright rules (which it probably wasn’t, else she wouldn’t have given you the post!). At the end of her post, you could mention that it was originally published on such-and-such blog, but that’s not even necessary.

Hi Laurie,
Have a question for you. I invited a local food blogger to guest post for me. She agreed and send me this posting, which was posted on her blog days earlier. Is it kosher to repost the same thing on mine? I didn’t, eventhough I had her permission. I was wondering if that would be considered as plagiarism?

Laurie, great post! Not only did you give me some Valentine’s Day writing inspiration, but you also touched upon an issue that I frequently see in young writers who are stuck waiting for “the right mood or inspiration” before they write an article. As a writer, you have to–in the words of Nike–just do it!
