Delena ~ I hope you find time to get your own writing done! That’s more important than writing for clients, even though writing for clients pays the bills. But, writing for yourself is where your heart is.

J.K. Rowling’s success has absolutely astounded me. I mean, I love Harry as much as the next rabid fan, but still. Her and Harry’s fame is like a literary mushroom cloud. I suppose it showed that the YA genre really was ready for more mature material than it had ever been given credit for.

Then again, I’ve read some phenomenal YA novels and the subjects were just as mature as Harry Potter books, but they didn’t have nearly the reach that Rowling’s books have.

So her fame astounds me. Whenever I just write what I want to read, my own popularity always jumps. If I didn’t spend every spare minute (even eating into my sleep time) to write for my clients, I’d get so much of my own writing done.

What’s holding me back from following my heart to fame and fortune is laziness. I’ll never be like JK Rowling because I get distracted by everything around me, such as writing blogs like these!!!
