Agreed. Putting the posts, forums and discussion commenting at number was very right. You cannot get anywhere without much commenting.

If I could add a bit, you might also want to use BESTOTI. You just place their widget on your website, submit your posts on bestoti and start getting free traffic.

There are tons of great ways to drive traffic to sites and some of them are discussed here. One of my favorites is posting on forums. Forum sites are good platforms for exchange of information. Although they can also be likely targets for spam, but there are many out there who actually contribute new information and seriously join in discussions. I’ve learned a lot of information and ideas just by reading forums. This had been an enjoyable read.

I don’t think link exchanges are less important for increasing traffic to your blog than search engine optimization, good content, and lots of good exposure (eg commenting on other people’s blogs — which I never seem to find time to do).

Great tips for folks. I employ as many as I can of these and I can tell you that I know they work. How? Because If I slack off and stop doing them for even a week, my traffic numbers drop proportionately.
