I’d consult a urologist, just to be on the safe side! Especially if you’ve been trying to get your partner pregnant for some amount of time.

i’m 29 old male mentioned below my semen analysis. please let me know whether it is normal or not? if abnormal how to increase the sperm..? i’m also smoker regular weekly twice drinks. please advice me for the diet.

Hi,
I am trying to conceive baby from last 3 years. But i still not get it. I go for sperms test for more than 10 times but sperms motility did not increase more than 45%. I take alot of medications but still no result. I am very disappointed. I want a baby. Can you let me know which doctor is best for treatment of fertility and is their any medication to improve motility ? Please help me….!

Dear Ollie,

The good news is that you’re seeing a urologist! He – or a fertility doctor – can tell you why your sperm is abnormal. Once you know why they’re abnormal (eg, swimming in circles, not fully formed, not healthy, etc), then you’ll be in a much better position to get your wife pregnant.

Sometimes doctors can give sperm the boost they need, while other times it’s better to look outside your sperm for a solution. At this point, you can’t do much but wait!

Your urologist will tell you to quit smoking; it has a direct effect on your health, including your fertility. He may also tell you to cut back or quit drinking altogether, depending on how much you imbibe.

But take heart, my friend. Some fertility experts believe that sperm problems are easier solved than female fertility problems, because there are fewer intricate internal mechanisms in a guy’s body.

Don’t give up your faith and hope of one day being a father…some roads are rockier than others, and if you try to stay as hopeful as possible, you’re halfway there! Many couples conceive despite having infertility problems.

Let me know what the urologist says…I’ll be sending prayers and positive vibes your way…

Hi Laurie,

I have been trying to concieve with my wife for the last 2 years and have not had any success yet. Recently we both went for tests to see what the problem was. As it stands my wifes result is that she is not the problem. I have had 2 fertility tests which have come back with the result “abnormal”. I have received no more details than that at this stage. I am concerned. I am 38 and in the last chance saloon for having a child of my own and we are now getting desperate. I have been referred to a urologist which I am currently organising to understand in more detail what is going wrong.
I wont lie, I have taking recreational drugs regularly up until about a year ago ( but no more since ) and regularly drink and smoke. I guess that this is part of my problem now. Can you shed any further light on my situation as I am feeling very dejected by the whole situation and would really appreciate some clarity on what is happening right now.
