Hi De,

I'm sorry to hear of your miscarriage...that's very sad. But, I'm happy that you have your little girl! I bet she'll have brothers and sisters soon -- I bet you'll be pregnant again and have a healthy baby before you know it... :-)

Regarding your questions: I couldn't suggest an at-home fertility drug, because even if I was a doctor, I wouldn't prescribe medication or even herbal remedies without seeing you in person. There are just too many things that are unknown...which is why you really need to talk to your doctor about fertility boosters.

Of course, there are many natural things you can do to improve female and male fertility -- here are a few links to articles and general information:

<a href="http://theadventurouswriter.com/blogbaby/quipstipscouplesinfertility/health/how-food-affects-female-fertility/" rel="nofollow">How Food Affects Female Fertility</a>

<a href="http://theadventurouswriter.com/blogbaby/quipstipscouplesinfertility/health/tips-for-improving-female-fertility/" rel="nofollow">Tips for Improving Female Fertility</a>

<a href="http://theadventurouswriter.com/blogbaby/quipstipscouplesinfertility/health/how-ovulation-predictor-kits-work/" rel="nofollow">How Ovulation Predictor Kits Work</a>

<a href="http://theadventurouswriter.com/blogbaby/quipstipscouplesinfertility/relationships/fertility-yoga-tips-couples-trying-conceive/" rel="nofollow">Fertility Yoga Tips for Couples Trying to Conceive</a>

Also -- I encourage you to ask your doctor about fertility drugs! Even though you already have a healthy daughter, you still have the right to do all you can to get pregnant and have more children. You're not doing anything wrong by asking for help getting pregnant, my friend. Don't be ashamed or reluctant to ask for help.

Now go forth and ask your doctor how to multiply!

Blessings,
Laurie

Ebony, I wrote two articles about predicting when you are ovulating, and forgot to post them here!

Here is the link to "3 Ways to Predict When You Are Ovulating" - and it leads to "How Ovulation Predictor Kits Work."

Danielle, thanks for opening up here!

The first thing that comes to my mind is that the THOUGHT of something scary -- like having to cope with infertility or serious reproductive problems -- is worse than the reality. Has that ever happened to you, in other aspects of your life? Often, we build things up in our mind, and they become far, far worse in our imagination than facing them in real life.

The fear of serious infertility issues is worse than actually facing those infertility issues. When you know what you're dealing with, then you can start moving forward! As it is, you're stuck in a web of fear, anxiety, worry......you'll get out of that web when you know what the problem is --- IF there is a problem!

But, that said, you may not be ready to take that step yet, and that's cool. Just don't let fear dictate your life!

Irregular periods does make it more difficult to get pregnant, but that doesn't mean there's something seriously wrong. Honestly, the only way to find out is to get a few preliminary tests: blood work, semen analysis, etc.

The general rule is that if you haven't gotten pregnant after one year of trying, then you should go see your doctor. In 33% of infertility cases, it's male factor infertility. In 33% of infertility cases, it's female factor. And, in the remaining 33%, it's unknown.

Two very close couple friends of mine can't get pregnant, and the doctors don't know why! They're both in that 33% catergory, of unknown reasons for infertility.

Anyway, I hear your fear, Danielle. It's very scary to think that something could be seriously wrong......but your trouble getting pregnant could have NOTHING to do with your body! Even if your husband has a child from before, his sperm could now be sluggish or less prolific.

I hope I've helped -- and I'd love to hear from you again...especially after you've visited the doctor and found out what the problem might be ;-)

Best wishes,
Laurie

I am 22 years old. My husband and I have been together for a little more than 2 years. We have been trying to concieve for about the last year and are having some problems. I dont think that it is him, because he already has a child from a previous marriage. I still have very irregular periods still, since I started having them when I was sixteen. I've never been pregnant before, and never used birth control. I've had alot of women tell me that they have been sexually active not using any form of birth control, and it took them awhile to get pregnant as well. I am just wondering if this sounds anywhere near normal? I am so worried and scared to go to a doctor, afraid I'm going to have un-fixable problems. I was just wondering if I could get another point of view. Thanks!!

Hi Ebony,

Thanks for your questions - I've been meaning to research and write an article about how to find out when you're ovulating, and I will later today!

In the meantime, here are two articles about increasing sperm count and reducing male infertility:

I'll work on the ovulation info, and get it up asap....
