Yes, I've read that our monthly period makes us physically healthier and stronger than men. It really is amazing :-)

If you're having problems with your period, please see a gynecologist in person for a check up. It's impossible to know why you're not menstruating without a doctor doing an exam!

We are married for the last 4 years and no baby till now. We have been trying for the past two years but no results. Doctors say that we are normal and no medicine is required. A feeling of fear and isolation is coming into our minds all the time. But i still believe if God has not given us a child there is reason for it and he will give us the gift of child when the right time comes. Please pray for us so that we remain emotionally strong and always trust in God.

I have been trying to get pregnant for over 12 years now. My husband and I have been seeing a fertility specialist who recommended clomid. We have done one IUI with no luck. My husband has a sperm count which goes up and down, the doctor has recommended him taking a sperm supplement which he is doing over 3 years with no change in his sperm count. It just seems to me that if the sperm are unable to fertilize the egg it will not matter how many are produced. We want to get pregant.

Sometimes irregular periods for teens is regular! That is, their bodies and hormones haven't adjusted to a normal monthly flow. Some women never have regular periods, which is annoying and even painfully frustrating when it comes time to try to get pregnant (as you can see from some of these reader comments).

Sometimes it's normal to have irregular periods because your body is just "like that", and sometimes there is something causing a problem. Fibroids or endometriosis can disrupt your cycle.

The bottom line is that you have to see a gynecologist or family doctor in person to learn why your body isn't regular. It feels embarrassing to talk about it, but it's better to be embarrassed in the short term instead of agonizing about irregular periods for months or even years!

If you can't go to your family doctor, call a teen help line or Planned Pregnancy. There are resources and experts available, but you have to dig them up and find the courage to call!

Remember that the pain of making the call and asking for help is short...please get in-person help today.
